time for an update I think. 2016 Sep. 10th, 2016 @ 12:39 am
So, not a lot has changed really, well some small things have..

The Old burned down house is long since gone, the ground has been prepared for the next mobile home to be rolled in and set up. but the money to fund THAT part.. has not been happening as I hoped it would.
Sure, I'm working, 2 jobs in fact. but neither of them pay well at all. But it's some income all the same.
while not enough to fund forward progress, it's been enough to sustain the Dogs and me in a decent fashion. no ones going hungry. The bills are getting paid on time and I still have internet.. so.. yeah, I cannot complain much on the creature comfort part.
I've gotten a decent start on replacing the Musical making gear. Thank goodness for Craigs' list & Pawn shops!
thanks to my watchful eye, I scored Many ridiculously good deals.
16Ch. Peavey Mixer
2000WT Rackmount Pyle Power Amp
120WT Carvin Bass Amp w/ 15" speaker
65WT Crate 3 Chanel Guitar Amp
50WT Epiphone 2 Chanel Amp w/ dual 10" speakers
mismatched 12" speaker cabinets (x2)
Yamaha DTX Explorer Digital Drum Kit

I did not pay over $100, for any single piece in that group.
The guitars, I cannot make the same claim. :O)

1993 Ibanez EX-1700 semi hollow (black with cream binding)
Squire Strat (early Model) White on white
Fender Acoustic 6 string
and the newest..
B.C.Rich (Bronze series) Mockingbird (Candy Apple Red/Chrome Hardware) Single knob, dual humbucker, 22 fret, hard tail. it's pretty! :O)
and lastly a used Casio keyboard (gotta start the synth replacement somehow!)

Now your probably saying" why not use that money to do your house?"
that's pretty easy to answer really.
"when you had all kinds of things, and they are now gone forever, you .long to be having things again."
that's the only justification I have to offer.
Besides, I have already furnished the Mobile home, outfitted it with appliances. I've done everything but stock Computers, linens & groceries. So I have been spending money on the house. it's all still a work in progress.

My folks purchased themselves a newer car, so I was granted free use of their old ford explorer SUV. This has helped me out quite a lot. it allowed me to get these two jobs. So I'm rolling with the punches until more suitable employment rolls my way again.

Gee, it's well past my bedtime.. So I'll be back again, hopefully sooner than later.
Just know that the Dogs and I are all doing well & eating good.

So it's Now September first of 2015:

I am working Part Time at A Safari Park Locally. (The pay sucks, but the perks are awesome)
I purchased a Used Mobile home to put on my property, to replace the one I lost to the fire.
I have been razing the old place for the last 10 days, gonna move the newest trailer into the place the
original one occupied, so I can rebuild back to something near what I had before.

I had use of a 2000 Mustang GT for a few months, but it has malfunctioned electronically, and was
taken back by it's owner. I don't imagine it'll be back anytime soon.
So I am on foot or ride dependent currently.

I am still single, 15 years now. (nothing on my personal relationship horizon either)

I have been hanging on a Furry site called FX (Furries Extreme) where I have become a Chat Moderator.

So I am attempting the get the newest Mobile home parked in it's place, and attached to water/power/sewer
before the on-set of winter.

Moving forward. Aug. 19th, 2014 @ 07:08 am
Well Since the fire I have Squatted in a foreclosed home for 6 months, before the bank who now own it asked me to vacate. So I did of course.. and I acquired a tiny used/abused Mobile home which had been stripped out and
had been used as a tool/storage shed. The Mobile home is 12' wide and 40' long with a internal ceiling height of 7'. The Trailer which is still on it's wheels, still has to be moved to my property, and I am awaiting a solid date for that move to occur.

I have cleaned it out, replaced the floors, added padding & carpeting, then moved what few possessions I have gathered, into it. there were no appliances aside from the stock factory installed furnace for heating, everything else had been gutted long ago.

So my first priority was Air Conditioning, because Summers in Arkansas can be rather brutal for heat and humidity. so I installed 2 A/C's one on each end. Then I got a used refrigerator, and began to build a kitchen
around it. it's going okay as far as the building goes.. I have access to a bunch of house scraps so things like counter tops and some basic cabinetry I was able to salvage and put to use. So now I have a rudimentary
kitchen with a large toaster over, a microwave and a coffee pot. there is no sink or plumbing yet but those are not too difficult to acquire or set up.

Since I am still without a reliable vehicle, I am not working a regular job, but rather I am doing P.C. repair
from home, since I have a business license to do so. it's not a lot of work, but it's keeping Me & my dogs fed at least.

I lost my house,my studio,my car and everything else i ever owned to a housefire.
The good news is I'm still alive.
Even more good news, the plutonic housemate survived too.
And we were able to save 4 of the 5 dogs.

If that wasn't bad enough,
My employeer decided my services were no longer required, and fired me.

Not painful enough yet? Okay..

Found out he's not been claiming my taxs. So now the I.R.S. wants money too.

I certainly hope your 2014 is going better than mine has.

Just over a year has passed since my last confess...oh I mean update.
So, here goes....

December 23 2013, its the end of the year and as a going away gift, 2013 decided I could really use a root canal,
So my lopsided face will not get stuck this way. (Kidding on the stuck part).
So I get my face drilled on for Xmas...umm, yay,

Okay so new years is out too for recovery..

2014 begins.

1/9/2014: 11:35pm. I am awakened by a huge banging sound, I had been asleep maybe 2 hours, so I was very groggy having emerged prematurely from REM sleep. I then became aware of a roaring and popping sound, I flew out of bed,
Shoved my way threw the hot to the touch door. I was greeted immediately by a blast of heat, smoke and as I looked threw the short hallway I could see that more than 50% of the house was already fully involved.
The fire detectors did go off, but I could not hear them well enough from my room.

As I passed the hall,, I went out the back door of the house as it was not yet involved in the fire.
However the dogs which were in my room to shelter from the cold. They did not follow me out of the house.
My housemate who had awakened me was getting dressed, his room was not attached to the house, and was beginning to smolder preignition. He managed to get clothed and grab a jacket and a small basket of dirty clothes before his room burst into flame. As he dressed, and I was running out of the house, the tossed me his telephone, which I snatched from the air mid run, "call 911!" He shouted as I passed, I hit the 1 button emergency dial and began reporting to emergency services our location. While I was sorting hat out I could see the fire had reached my end of the house and was beginning to flare up again, my housemate yelled, "where are the dogs?" He kicked in the window air conditioner and two of my dogs kept to safety. My dog "Wallace" didn't trust my housemate, and would not exit the room. My romie said, Wallace won't come out!. I ran over and called for my dog, black smoke had filled the room and I could not see inside anymore. I called for the dog again, this time I saw a black whiney nose rise out of the thick black smoke, I didn't hesitate, I leaned into the room, felt his forearms, and I threw him out of the window the house,to safety. As I pulled myself out of the busted out window frame, he room exploded into flames. I walked over, gathered my nervous dogs about 20 yards away from the fire, and I made them lay down with me in the pasture while we waited for the local fire department. My roomies car which was about 25' from the burning house began to smolder and the plastic parts were beginning to melt. He opened the car door, burning his hands on his car as he did, he then pulled the car away from the house, to safety. Then had to get his truck out as well. He was successful, me.. Not so lucky, my car was destroyed.

So yeah, we both lost everything we owned that was in the house.
I got out with my dogs, and the thermal under ware I had worn to bed. And that's it!
So, I began my year in the worst sort of way.

If that's not enough to endure, my employer, decided they could not afford me any more, and subsequently laid me off work. Nice huh?
so I figure the universe. Decided to "Pull my card", And test my stamina and resolve.

Its now the last day of Febuarary, I've been off work since COB Monday, I have been trying to plan a house build, and how I can finance this endevour. I got some cleaver ideas for the new place, I've shown them to a few qualified builders for opinions only, and so far the reactions have been. Very positive.
So I may try and make a go at building from scratch, for the first time.
Oh,BTW I doubt I'll ever live in a mobile home ever again

So, what am I doing now?
Right now I am finishing building another 3D printer to replace the 3 we lost in the fire, its about 48 hrs from being completed. We have 2 flying machines built for aerial videography. These were things we had already had before the fire, and needed to get back to the R&D we had been working on.

So,we survived, and continue to do so.
Oh, for the curious, my housemate, is straight, a single dad, and my geek partner and my best friend out here.
Our friendship is strictly plutonic.

So, how's your life so far this year?

» The First Day of 2013
Well I figured that since today is the fist day of 20 13, I should post something to my journal...

Hello Journal, this is what you get.

"Do you know the difference between New Years Eve and Justin Bieber?"
"They are both waiting for their balls to drop."

Okay.. thats enough..  Happy 2013.
» Spring 2012
I started a new post, so we could stop posting replies to a message that's over 2 years old.

» 5 or 6 weeks later, The Marshall Saga.
Well it finally happened,  Guitar Smiths Called me last night to let my know that my Marshall JCM-800/2205 is repaired and ready for pick up. after only 6 or so weeks of waiting.  So I'll be taking off at  the buttcrack of dawn to drive the 100 or so miles to go pick it up.

I put the amp in the shop on my Birthday (1-25-09) as a B-Day gift to myself. The amp had not been working for almost 10 years,
But thats mostly because I didn't have a place I could play it anyways. Apartments & Marshall Half Stacks do not mix.
So I never had much need to have it repaired right away. So since I've been out here in the boonies for a while, I figured I could
finally use it the way it's ment to be used. "Profusely".

While the Marshall was non operational, I purchased 2 other amplifiers. A nice Epiphone Twin (25watt) and a Peavey Bandit (25watt)
and I have used those quite a bit. there is one Bad thing about owning a really Nice Marshall Amp. You become quite spoiled by having
all of the dynamics that Marshall Amps are so famous for. No Solid state Amp I have ever used even comes close to the Crisp Cunch
that a Marshall has naturally (without any effects or stomp box's). No (Solid State) Amp I have ever tried makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up and Wiggle, Quite like it does with a Marshall Tube Amp.

So I take off for my "road trip" in just about an hour, and I'm kinda excited.

Oh and the Cost of the repair.. $260.00  Which is more than I paid for either newer Amp, and a LOT less than the cost of a replacement.
I'll gladly pay the ransom for it!

» Other Events of little intrest.
After almost 8 years, I finally took My Marshall JCM-800 (2205) Guitar Amp in to be repaired.
Before I did I wanted to get an Idea of what a Vintage 1985 Marshall Amp Sells for these days.
So I hit all the usual Retail places, and I checked eBay as well as all the outher well known musicans haunts.

I'll be darned, it's worth about $2000.oo Now-a-days, and thats not counting the speaker box ya need to make it actually function.
I guess I paid about $850.oo for it back in the day,  Good Investiment.

So anyway I took it to the Shop last week, and I expected them to have it for at least a week.
a week went by, and no call from them...  So I called them to check on the progress.

Ray:  "Guitar Smiths, Ray Speaking,"

Me:  "Hey Ray, this is The Guy with the Marshall JCM-800, I Brought in last week for repairs."

Ray:  "Yeah, Dood, I was going to call you, What was wrong with that Amp?"

Me:  "As Far as I know it just needed the Tubes Changed.. I thought... "

Ray:  "Well our Shop Tech Plugged it in, and sparks shot out the back and a big puff of smoke came out... What was wrong with it?"

Me:  "I donno thats why I took it to you guys, ya know.. for repair.. "

Ray:  "Well I think we're going to need to put in a new power tube socket, those are hand soldered."

Me:  "If thats what it needs to fix it, then Please, fix it."

Ray:  "Oh, Okay.. it'll be another week probably... "

Me:  "Thats Fine, just call me when it's finished, so I can Gather the Ransom."

Ray:  "Yeah he's gonna charge extra for the hand soldering"

Me:  "I guessed as much.  Well Call me when it's finished Please."

Ray:  "Cool, Later Dude..."

This is kind of typical of anything you do in arkansas. no matter what your trying to accomplish.
ya get the same "Ray" no matter where you call. and he always Suprised that something is wrong,
even when you told him initally there was something wrong.  Arkansas, Great Place.. Yup...
